...Fishing in Nepal with Himalayan River Exploration
Fishing the Karnali river can be a great adventure when combined with a rafting trip. Tiger Mountain specializes in mahseer fishing in far west Nepal, either from our tented camp in Bardia National Park, or through dedicated expeditions to remote rivers with Himalayan River Exploration - Nepal’s pioneer river rafting company. As a conservation orientated company we operate a strictly catch and release policy. The Mahseer (Tor sp) is a great sporting fish of the sub-continent and has been recorded to reach over 100lb. in weight. Day trips from the camp by raft offer a great chance to fish the lower Karnali river with our guides who have good experience of fishing these waters.  As you stand waist deep in the clear water and cast your spoon into the depths, wild elephant, rhino and even the elusive Royal Bengal tiger may be seen. These waters are also home to the rare, freshwater, Gangetic dolphin. Your fishing adventure can range from a half-day trip starting out from the Karnali Camp to a week-long one that starts high up in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Fishing Nepal

Bardia is the perfect location for a combination of fishing, rafting and game viewing. The best time for fishing is post monsoon October to November or February to April as the snow melt raises water levels.
